Extrinsic foot muscle forces and joint contact forces in flexible flatfoot adult with foot orthosis: A parametric study of tibialis posterior muscle weakness

چکیده

Abstract Background The posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction (PTTD) is typically associated with progressive flatfoot deformity, which could be alleviated foot orthosis. However, the evaluation of (TP) weakness on lower limb mechanics adults orthoses scarce and requires further investigation. Research question This study aimed to examine effects TP in orthosis through gait analysis musculoskeletal modelling. Methods Fifteen young were recruited from University perform a experiment without orthoses. Data collected motion capture system used drive modelling for estimation joint force extrinsic muscle forces limb. A parametric was conducted by adjusting strength 40 % 100 %. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA compare peak among different levels insole conditions. The Effect of High Heel Shoes on Tibiofemoral and Patellofemoral joint Contact Forces and Muscle Forces

Introduction: High heel shoes affect the knee joint and can cause arthritis in the tibiofemoral (TFJ) and patellofemoral joints (PFJ). There is a dearth of research investigating the contact forces of TFJ and PFJ. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the effect of high heel shoes on muscle forces as well as TFJ, and PFJ contact forces during walking.   Materials & Methods: A tot...

Forces under the foot.

A transducer has been developed to record the shear or horizontal components of force beneath the sole of the foot. When used with a vertical force transducer it has enabled a comprehensive analysis of the mechanical forces acting beneath the foot when walking in various types of footwear. Considerable differences have been recorded between the footwear. Particularly low forces are present in a...

Restoration of muscle balance of the foot by transfer of the tibialis posterior.

A new technique of tibialis posterior transfer is described which has been used in a wide variety of conditions producing muscular imbalance in the foot. The results in eighty-five feet are reviewed in terms of range of motion, power and voluntary control of the transfer. The effect of the transfer on shoe wear, on the necessity for bracing and on the child's or his parents' assessment of the r...

Effects of extrinsic foot musculature on hindfoot kinematics during stance phase: Implications for flatfoot pathology

Background Flatfoot deformity is a common condition, characterized by a collapse of the medial foot arch. Specific muscle dysfunctions relate to kinematic changes of the hind foot (plantarflexion, abduction and valgus) inducing the onset of flatfoot deformity. However, to determine a causal relation between individual muscle action, foot bone motion and flatfoot, in vitro experiments are needed...

Muscle perfusion scan for prediction of anticipated diabetic foot ulceration

Introduction:We evaluated the performance of muscle perfusion scan (MPS) to assess muscle perfusion reserve (MPR) for prediction of incident diabetic foot ulcerations (DFU). Methods: We recruited 41 diabetic patients without any history of DFU. Five mCi 99mTc-MIBI was injected intravenously during repetitive dorsal and plantar right foot flexions. T...
